Sequestering Agents (Textile Chemical)

Sequestering Agents

Sequestering agent is also known as chelating agent. The meaning of sequestering agent refers to a complex forming auxiliary chemical with metals such as Iron, Copper, Nickel, Zinc and Magnesium that are present in water and affects the textile processing in many way.

Sequestering agents are commonly used for water treatment purposes to reduce water hardness.

Sequestering agents are compounds that form stable, water-soluble chelates with calcium, magnesium and heavy metal ions. These chelates essentially remove the metal ions from solution and eliminate the problems that these ions can cause in dyeing and related textile processes.

Benefits Of Sequestering Agents :

  • Prevent catalytic damage

  • Eliminate dissolved metal salts

  • Avoid hard water effects
