Leveling & Dispersing Agent
Leveling agents, also known as retarding agents, slow down the uptake of dye by fibers, resulting in a more uniform color in the textile fiber. Dispersing agents help disperse dye on polyester during HT dyeing, and improve the leveling effect. They also keep the dye in dispersed form, prevent dye aggregation and precipitation, and increase dye solubility.
In the textile industry, leveling and dispersing agents are used to improve the stability of dye baths and to produce more uniform colors.
Dispersing agents are non-ionic surfactants, such as alkyl-polyethyleneglycol. They are one of the most widely used auxiliaries in the textile industry, especially for polyester dyeing with disperse dyes.
